OVERVIEW
Torah Academy of Jacksonville has been the premier Orthodox Day School in Northeast Florida for the past 20 years. Torah Academy is located on the campus of Etz Chaim Synagogue and is looking for a Principal to grow and shape our school for the next generation. Our students learn through a dual curriculum (Secular and Judaic Studies) currently serving around 70 students from all types of Jewish backgrounds from Nursery (Age 3) through 12th Grade.
A successful Principal of Torah Academy must be:

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Principal reports to the Executive Director and will provide leadership for the school in the following ways by:
- Developing and implementing the strategic plan
- Setting a vision for the school
- Modeling appropriate behavior and inspiring students and staff
- Representing the school in the synagogue and community
- Leading family/student recruitment and retention activities
- Leading and promoting fundraising activities
The Principal will ensure academic excellence by:
- Developing Jewish studies curriculum
- Ensuring effective implementation of both the Judaic and General studies curricula through written teacher evaluations and in-class observations
- Promoting transparency of curriculum objectives with staff, parents and other constituencies
- Ensuring compliance with all government and other requirements and accreditation processes.
The Principal will ensure the effective management of the school by:
- Maintaining recruiting, hiring, evaluation and termination processes
- Promoting and participating in professional growth and development personally and for the staff
- Developing and executing a communication plan for the school
- Creating an annual plan and calendar for each school year
- Being involved in fundraising and other activities as requested by the President and/or Board.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Principal/Assistant Principal experience in an Orthodox day school
- Degree or in a higher education discipline
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external constituencies
- Effective oral and written skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Positive management experience in planning organization and motivation skills
- Commitment to teamwork and attention to detail
- Demonstrated leadership skills
