Special Education Lead Teacher

General Responsibilities:
This job is a full-time position, with half a day devoted to in-class teaching and half a
day devoted to administrative duties
● Effectively teach a class of children with mixed abilities, determining centers, pull-out
times, and appropriate curricula for each child
● Develop comprehensive PLPs, integrating academic, behavior, and social-emotional
goals into each student’s plan, including various therapies and interventions.
● Assist with hiring for the school, as well as onboarding new teachers
● Determine and order all learning resources, equipment, and supplies needed for the
classrooms, common areas, and therapy rooms, staying within pre-determined
budgets.
● Communicate with families, providing regular updates on each child’s progress
● Support and encourage other members of the faculty with training, enrichment, and
goal-setting
● Conduct internal meetings to review students’ progress and set new goals with the
educational and therapeutic team
