The Teacher-Director/Lead Educator at Tamim Academy of Vermont oversees the implementation of the educational philosophy and methodology of Tamim Academies in addition to specific classroom teaching responsibilities. The person in this position supervises the teaching team and coordinates efforts with the site leadership team and the network office. Educators at Tamim Academy focus on empowering students to reach their potential across all areas of life. Our educators seek the long-term social and emotional health of their students while also ensuring that academic rigor is firmly rooted within the school’s curriculum.
The ideal candidate is a gifted learner-centered educator, a warm and empathic communicator, and a tireless advocate for children. The Teacher-Director/Lead Educator reports to the Head of School.
Administrative Responsibilities
Build and maintain positive, transparent relationships with parents and educators.
Ensure that the school achieves growth and quality goals with efficient use of resources.
Work alongside educators to determine students’ academic and social emotional learning objectives and ensure that they’re met.
Mentor educators and make regular contributions to the network, including sharing curriculum, best practices, research findings, etc.
Ensure that learning targets and outcomes are communicated to colleagues, parents, and students on a regular basis.
Promote excellence and improvement in all areas of teaching, learning and administration.
Ensure the regular review and evaluation of programs and staff.
Represent the school both internally and externally.
Conduct parent and student admissions interviews.
Support the Head of School in hiring educators; establishing site-specific culture, schedules, processes, and procedures; and uphold the school site’s safety and compliance.

Support Tamim Academy’s growth as a new school
Ensure a constantly open classroom, create a welcoming and collaborative visitor experience
Contribute to the growth of the school through effective communication, individual initiative, and in response to the needs/requests of the community.
Contribute to the success of the network through collaborative and comprehensive use of the Altitude Platform.
Qualifications
High EQ and strong empathy for educators, parents, and students
Graduate degree in education
5+ years prior classroom teaching experience
1+ years prior team management experience
Prior experience working with multiple grade levels
Passion for working with and engaging children in student driven learning experiences
Belief in fostering children’s social, emotional, and spiritual capabilities
Prior experience with creating whole-child learning activities, including classroom teaching experience with students at the relevant age band
Prior experience with demonstrated academic results and social emotional learning in student experiences
Commitment to continuous professional learning and improvement
Collaborative mindset and a ‘can do’ attitude to overcoming obstacles
