After ten years serving as a Rav in Calgary, I am now retired and living in Lakewood. But if I would decide on a second career teaching Torah in a dayschool or yeshiva ketana, I would want my first position to be in Calgary, for two reasons:
If you ever dreamed of experiencing a modern version of Shtetel where you feel everyone is a part of a large family, you have found this place. Calgary community is a great place located in close drive proximity away from the Rockies and other tourist popular locations. Calgary is a very warm and welcoming city to newcomers in general with a lot to offer!
Our Jewish community is small but mighty! Every Jewish person is included and treated as an essential part of the success of the whole community. By joining us you will be able to enhance your leadership skills, bring your theoretical Torah knowledge to the action and create life longing relationships that will change your life forever! Our community is a living example of the Ahdut (Jewish unity) in which people respect and value every member’s madrega in life both spiritually and socially. Everyone’s resourcefulness and wholeness are valued and cherished.
Our loving and involved families of Halpern Akiva Academy (HAA) are committed to raising children that are proud of their Jewish heritage and motivated to grow in Torah and Mitzvot. The families that attend HAA come from different walks of life, so If you are ready to inspire and ready to see how your Torah education can move mountains our school is the right fit for you!
Our school was proud of how our children bring their learned skills to the real communal life from taking care of the elderly of the community, shul projects, and being an active participant in the Shabbos services.
Our newly hired principal stands by that Hashem placed us in this world for a reason. All of us have a mission in this world, while some are destined to become rabbis, others will be the great professional that will contribute to the world and the Torah community. We need all of us! Therefore, he believes in providing competitive general studies for our students so they would be able to fulfill their true potential. With that in mind, he stresses the importance of strong Torah education provided by teaching our children the tools to acquire that education that will be built grade by grade.
Working in our school is like being at an accelerated Jewish leadership program where you will discover your strength and exercise your creativity. This opportunity to work in our school will bring you plenty of Nachas, seeing many children with no Torah background flourishing and becoming a true Bnei Torah while inspiring their families.
If you are eager to Inspire and uplift the children by your Torah education and lead by example by featuring your life experience from the larger Jewish community, you are the right candidate that we are looking for!
Please join us and give Hashem nachas by providing Jewish children the opportunity to gain from your education and emuna!
